Term 2 Assembly

Isn't it awesome starting at school again for term two? "too me it is". I like coming back to school because I get to meet my friends again. On the 5 of May our school had a Assembly it was really cool because every assembly on the first day of every new start of a term they always have short performances from every team from team one to five.

The first one was team one, team one was all about the Zoo. The teachers made a video for the hole school too watch. They had a great video because it shows how they would keep the animals safe and us safe too. They are taking all of the team one students to the Zoo  "I wish I could go.

Team Two was all about Flying machines and how they work. they also made a little video too. On the video there were Hot air balloons everywhere after the video one of the teachers were dressed as a helicopter and another teacher was dressed as a plan and the last person was dressed as an pilot they all looked funny nearly everyone was laughing. The last character was a fairy who didn't know how the machines work so when she pointed her magic wand and dusted every teacher on the stage with magic dust and they turned on witch was very funny.

Team Threes performance was all about colour. I like there one the most because they told us how a rainbow is created plus I like colours too.Well when it rains a shine of like shines through one single rain drop then travels through many other rain drops that also creates different multiple colours and creates one gigantic rain bow that starts who knows were.

Team Fours one wasn't much of a performance it was mostly a documentary about Displacement and Buoyancy. Displacement for example is like a boats going into water and when the boats sets in, the water expands and the water rises up closer to the deck of the boat. Buoyancy for example is a little bit like Displacement but it's all about floating I still like it though plus it's good to learn new things once in a while.

Team fives performance was all about Sound It was really cool because all the teachers created different kinds of  home made instruments they all looked really weird but at least there instruments made a sound. Some instruments made oddly weird noises but I still like them.

SCIENTIFIC METHOD

Screen Shot 2014-05-08 at 1.52.39 pm.png  Ask a Question/ or Make an Observation:
What are you curious about? Or what you seen that makes you wonder?
Screen Shot 2014-05-08 at 1.52.30 pm.png   Research Your Topic:
What information can you find out about your topic.
Screen Shot 2014-05-08 at 1.52.21 pm.png    Write a Hypothesis
What do you think is the the answer to your problem or
the reason for your observation? Make an educated
                  guess that you can test.
Screen Shot 2014-05-08 at 1.52.07 pm.pngPlan and Perform Experiments:
                A) You will need to plan or design your experiment to
test your hypothesis. B) Predict what you think will
happen in your experiment. C) Test it and gather data.
Screen Shot 2014-05-08 at 1.51.57 pm.pngAnalyse Your Data/ Conclusion:
What does you data show? Did the experiment confirm
your hypothesis? Your prediction may not have been
                Correct. That’s O.K.

Echolocation

Echolocation:
Did you know that Bats uses echolocation. If you don’t know what it is well echolocation is locating with sound. You’ll have be very clever too know how to use this kind of technique.

Bats:
Bats use echolocation to use echolocation you have to locate anything in front of them and anything on the side of them too. Bats create noises with their noses and the noise creates sound waves that hits an object and rebounds to them and they know how far away the object is and how close the object is also what kind of size it too.

Ben:

There are very few people that use echolocation. But there is a teenager called Ben Underwood who had lost his eyes by cancer when he was three years old. So as years past through, one day him and his mother were riding in there car and past big buildings Ben says to his mum “ Mum can you see that big building out there” his mum was shocked when she heard him say that and his mum replied “I can but can you” that's when he could use echolocation.

When I finished watching the video about a Ben I thought to myself “if I close my eyes and make random noises will it rebound off the wall ?” Ben is just a normal teenager but he just doesn't have eyes to see. I never knew echolocation could help people that a blind could get them around place’s.
